Rhymes

Take turns creating lines of poetry that rhyme. For instance the first person can say “I knew an old man who was wise,” and the next person could say “and he had two big beautiful eyes,” and the next person could say “but sometimes he told people lies,” etc. etc.

Play Favorites

Take turns asking everyone about their “favorite” thing. For instance, “What is your favorite ice cream flavor?” Everyone in the car answers. Then the next person gets to think of a new topic. Some ideas: movie, color, game, sport, tv show, actor, actress, car, etc.

In My Suitcase

This game requires you to memorize a list of items that are “packed in the suitcase.” The items need to be in alphabetical order. For instance, the first person says “In my suitcase I have packed: an apron.” Then the next person has to repeat what is already in the suitcase and add one more thing: “In my suitcase I have packed: an apron and a baseball.” The next person says: “In my suitcase I have packed: an apron, a baseball and a chocolate bar.” This continues until you reach the letter Z, or someone forgets what is in the suitcase.” Or, to make the game harder, don’t require the list to be alphabetized.
